The Harvest
The
harvest
in Zambia
was
fantastic
with over 6,500 salvations and many healings. We had 11 people regain
their eye sight
-
Praise
God!! One message we heard over and over again was how thankful the
people
were to receive the Bibles,
an
event
which
almost did not happen.
I
received a call from our office in Zambia telling me the company that
was working to get the Bibles through customs
had
dropped the ball. We
sent out prayer
requests and got down to some serious intercession ourselves.
I
knew
the Bibles
would arrive in Zambia
before we left the country.
As heaven doors were
being assailed and
word
was spreading
throughout
Zambia
about the problem,
God started opening
doors.
As
the weekend approached,
I was
told that if the Bibles did not make it to the boarder before 5PM
then
the Bibles would not make it
to the city
until after we had
left.
Upon hearing this
news, a Zambian
Pastor
contacted the President’s
office.
They
made arrangements to allow the truck to pass through no matter what time
it
arrived at
the boarder.
I received a
4 AM
wake-up call. The
truck
has ARRIVED.
The driver
recounted a miraculous
story. He
told us
it was a miracle we
even
had any Bibles left.
Three
guys jumped on the
back of the
truck
and started
throwing
boxes off. Since it was so late at night no one
was
on the road. He said a light appeared behind them
which frightened
the guys
and
they
jumped
off.
When we
inventoried
the boxes,
only
six were missing
which accounted for
144 Bibles. Upon
realizing the number, the
scripture about sending 1,000
to flight came to mind.
If
each Bible
would
touch 1,000 souls,
then
there
would be
144,000
new Believers.
Of course,
that
number brings up a whole other point….
The main point is that
God won the victory.
God’s light will be shining forth over Zambia as His word spreads
through the country.
We gave
3,000 Bibles to Pastors
who
did not
even
own
one – how many do you have just sitting in your house?
5,000 were given to new
Believers
at the different events and 2,000 were given to the Messianic
congregation to help with their work. They are going to use them to
reach not only the Jewish community, but the Muslim as well. Through
their work many Muslims are turning to God. Praise the Lord!
I want
to thank all
who
supported this project
through prayers and finances,
and
encourage you to help us pay off the small balance
which
remains. We have raised all but $2,500. Please pray about supporting
this work so we may
fulfill our pledge to the company that printed the
Bibles
(see story below).
The Vision
So why
did
a good Messianic Jewish boy go to Zambia? Well, let me tell you. It
started
in early 2006
when I met Pastor Alex Yalenga,
who has planted
9 Messianic Congregations and an orphanage
in Zambia.
In July
of that year,
I met with Pastor Alex and Messianic Musician Paul Wilbur, who
birthed
the
Shalom Zambia outreach. Alex told me most Pastors do not have a bible,
let alone members of the congregation. The Shalom Zambia outreach
was focusing on
food,
medicine and Pastoral training. I asked Paul if anyone was bringing
Bibles and he said no.
With that I heard at still small voice say 10,000, so I asked Paul "how
many Bibles do you think you will need?" He thought for a moment and
said well about 3,500 but I think you should bring 10,000." Immediate
confirmation from the Lord.
The crunch was on! We
had to determine how to get
10,000
Bibles
printed, raise the funds, ship the Bibles by ocean liner to Africa, and
then transport them across three countries to Zambia in less than 4
months.
Zambia
was one of the wealthiest South African countries until 1973 when the
then Government condemned Israel for the '73 war. Now it is one of the
poorest countries in the world. The life expectancy is only 40 years and
the country has one of the highest HIV/Aids rates. The New Government
regime is now lead by Believers with a love for Israel. With this mind
set, we know God will once again bless this Nation.
Our
team
has left the country
and the
physical items
have been
consumed,
yet
we
have
left
a lasting legacy of spiritual nourishment
which
will never end.
We stepped out on faith and many of you answered the call. You
have helped
arm
10,000 with the Word of God.
As we know the Word of God will not return void. The “Good News of
Messiah”
will
continue to go throughout
the land of Zambia.
Yeshua tells us
"The
Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the
gospel to the poor." Luke 4:18
Through doors only God could open, Israel's Harvest printed 10,000
Bible for Zambia
at a
cost
of
$5.00 each. This included
both the Old and New Testament.
We feel that this is only the start of a Bible distribution plan God
has for us. Please continue to partner with us to get the Living Word
of God into His people’s hands.
